1 July 10 “A Great Day Out!"
Posted by VandRob
We've been travelling for 10 months round the world and been on a few rubbish tours - this is NOT one of those! John was awesome, truly knowledgeable and interesting. making wine fun. I am sometimes a bit embarrassed by the little I know about wine, but having spent the day with Wine for dudes I now know a lot more! Thanks John.

6 June 10 “Informative relaxing and great fun"
Posted by UK Traveller 20 from Glasgow, UK
John was very relaxed and gave us lots of really good information without being a wine snob. We even got to mix our own blend - wonderful. I liked visiting the range of estates from small to large and of course the beers and chocs and olive oil - good combination. Would certainly recommend this tour highly (and it's good for all ages). The lunch on the lawn was beautiful. Overall fabulous.

16 April 10 “great day out in beautiful surroundings"
Posted by Damian & Jojo from Dublin, Ireland
Damo and I really enjoyed this trip. Diana picked us up from the hostel in the Dude-mobile and gave us a bit of background info on wine growing in Margaret River. She was really friendly & enthusiastic and told us they never do the same tour twice. We went to an awesome organic Vineyard called Peacetree (and spent ALOT of cash on beautiful wines) and to Olio Bello, a lovely olive oil farm with lots of sampling, along with 4 other vineyards. If you've visited any of the vineyards before let them know and they'll replace them on the agenda. The benefit of doing a tour with Wine for Dudes rather than going it alone (as we had done the day before) is that you get much more attention - especially as Diana knew many of the wine growers personally, had been to school with their kids etc. You get to taste some truely lovely wines and have a great lunch, plus no-one in your party has to drive (big bonus!!)

5 April 10 “meh....fun but not really"
Posted by Dominic Johnson 83 from Perth, Australia
My girlfriend and I decided to go on this tour on the Easter long weekend. We expected a messy day but it turned out to be quite tiring. We also expected it to be very relaxed when it came to wine culture.....only cause we wanted to drink more wine rather than taste wine..... Seriously......if u like wine tasting then do it... persornally i think wine tasting sucks and i was quite happy to forgo all the wine stops and just hit the brewerys..... im gonna give this tour a thumbs up because the dude that runs it (john) is a good bloke and is quite organised. this is a crap biased review...... however in short.........if u LOVE wine then go on the tour.......if you just wanna get wasted......hit the local pubs in margaret river instead.

18 Mar 10 “Fantastic fun day out"
Posted by FoggsUK from UK
We spent a month in Austrailis for our honeymoon (Nov 09) and Perth was our last stop. While there we visited Margaret River and booked the Wine for Dudes Tour (as a friend of ours recommended it). John the guide was very friendly and informative - even advised on places to stay, as we hadn't booked anywhere before leaving the UK. The vineyards we visited were great (especially liked the family atmosphere of Windance) and the olive/soap/chocolate factories & brewery were a great addition to a fantasatic trip. Especially liked mixing our own wine and enjoying it over a very pleasant picnic lunch. The brilliant service didn't end at the end of the day. When we got home John sent us a link to photos that he had taken on the day and forwarded us ones that we wanted to print out. This is really what I would call great customer service. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to find out more about wine in an informal, relaxed environment. A really fun day that we would certainly do again if we ever make it back to Oz. 9 Mar 10 “A great day with the dudes!!!”
Posted by Travelmate2000 from Germany
Simply the best wine tour I've ever been on. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, the scenery unique and beautiful. John the owner , a cheerful and friendly dude was our guide. He brings everyone together. It feels like being on a wine tour with a bunch of friends. He is very professional and knowledgeable about the area as well as the wineries and wines. It was a great mix of wineries, very diverse and interesting yet unpretentious, a lot of fun and will please the palette of the most serious wine afficianadoes. We even had the chance to blend our own wine, a tasty mix of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, that we enjoyed for lunch, a picnic in a beautiful vinyard setting. We also visited an olive oil factory where we could sample the fantastic olive oil and other goodies as well as the beauty products. And the visit at the chocolate factory was sweet. Both a nice breake before we continued on to taste a little more wine. After a great day of wineries we stopped at a local brewery for a few more laughs and a refreshing selection of local Aussi beer. A perfect ending for a perfect day! By the look of the others they were as satisfied as I was. The dudes had done their job. Spending a day with them should be an expirience for anyone visiting the Margaret River area.

19 Feb 10 "Catchy Title, Better Tour!"
Posted by Schugbear from Airlie Beach, Australia
As with most tours we have experienced, a guide can make or break the day. John, our guide, was knowledgeable, and engaged the group. It was a small and diverse group, we saw a good mix of vineyards, tasting some great wines. We also went to some local businesses including a chocolate factory, olive oil maker and brewery. It was a full day and great break from the beach.

17 Feb 10  "A way to taste what Margaret River has to offer"
Posted by Punkhead, Grimshaw
This was a great way to spend the day and see the area. I was in Dunsborough at the time where Wine for Dudes don't do pick-ups, but John sent a taxi to pick up us up and didn't charge us anything. He was very helpful in more ways than just wine, he knew the area, knew the companies really well and really enjoyed chatting with us. We even had a quick cricket match after lunch. The wineries were very welcoming and enjoyed telling us about their wines. The chocolate factory was a nice desert touch as well. Olive oil tasting and taking a look at the soap factory was something unique and was very enjoyable. Probably one of the most interesting things was mixing the wines and then testing them out. Sensational tour, great guide, heaps of fun and lots of samples! Must do when in Margaret River!

28 Nov 09  "Best wine tour"
Posted by James M from Sydney, Australia
We have been on a number of wine tours in countries across the world and this was one of the most relaxed and fun that we have been on. The service was great and we received friendly receptions at all of the wineries that we visited. It was my wife's birthday and John even bought a cake that was served whilst we were drinking the wine that we had mixed. The trip was also informative and provided an interesting overview of the wine region and wine making process.

14 Nov 09  "will remember for a long time"
Posted by Marilyn Corley
My husband and I had a great time on the wine tour, everything was so good and the lunch was beautiful.  All the wineries that we went to the staff were all so friendly and made us welcome and we felt as if nothing was too much trouble.  Thank you for a very enjoyable 30th wedding anniversary that my husband and I will remember for a long time.

9 Oct 09  A fun day exploring!

If you're wanting to do a Margaret River winery tour do it with Wine for Dudes. You won't be disappointed! John was so helpful, knowledgeable and he went out of his way to make sure we saw everything we wanted to see. He even drove around and found some kangaroos that our overseas guests could take photos of! From pick-up to drop-off he was really wonderful and we all have no hesitation in recommending Wine for Dudes to anyone looking for a great day out. Thanks John!

29 Sep 09  Great Day, Great Company, Great Host!
Posted by Awarnach
John was a very knowledgeable and fun host, our group was small which made for a more personal experience and you don't feel like your lost in the crowd. Fantastic mix of wineries, cheese factory and brewery for the all over Margaret River experience!. Would definately recommend to anyone who wants a "down to earth" tour.

29 May 09  Great day full of fun
Posted by Coxy1710 from ajax
A group of us met in Perth (6) and decided that we would go on an adventure to Margaret River on my last weekend before heading back to Canada. We decided that after hearing nothing but great things that we would go on the wine for dudes tour and experience all that it had to offer. After a long adventure getting there we had a great time. John is an awsome guy and we greatly appreciate all that he did for us. He definitely helped out our weekend. We all 100% recommend going on this tour as even though it was a horrible stormy day we all had a great time and couldnt ask for a better way to finally start our weekend away. Thanks :)

26 May 09  Wonderful way to spend a day, drink, eat and play!
Posted by JulesRules1968
This was a fantastic day out for any one who enjoys a wine or beer now and then. The fun relaxed atmosphere was great. All of the people on our tour were enjoying the informal unpretentious setting. After a brief talk by John (our driver) we sampled our first wines - something for each different palate was on offer. Lunch was a serve yourself picnic style buffet; with gourmet options! Accompanied by a glass of red mixed by each person to their own personal preference. After this we visited 2 more wineries, 2 micro-breweries, a chocolate factory and an olive farm (not in this order). On the bus on the trip back to town there was a 5 question quiz about things we had seen or heard on the day. I highly recommend this trip to any age group. We had a great time.

26 May 09  A Magaret River must!
Posted by Olly from Seaham
An essential part of any trip to the Margaret River region is a tour with Wine for Dudes. A friendly atmosphere, very informative, put across in a down to earth way that makes you want to learn more. Lots of laughs and good craic with a young crowd. The wine blending is a lovely addition to the tour giving you a practical chance to see what goes on behind the scenes, after which the tour stops for an alfresco lunch which delicious food taking in the wonderful countryside. I enjoyed the experience so much I did it twice and John also took this into consideration mixing up the vineyards second time round, a brilliant day out that should be on everyone's itinerary.

For my Dad's 60th I organised a wine tour through Wine For Dudes. It was all our family and alot of his friends, the age range was from 60 down to 20 and everyone had a great day especially the "dudes" as it wasn't all wines but ended with some beers.Shell drove us around but we met John, both have good personalities, you won't be disappointed...ah yeah, the wines were tops too. Thanks Shell.
